Principles of work:
Sterilization is effected by high ozone concentration, produced in the ozone generator of the sterilizer from oxygen of air. Ozone is the strongest oxidant; it is ten times stronger than chlorine, that’s why it ruins membrane, cell-organelle of bacteria, viruses and other pathogenic microorganisms, fungus.
The sterilizing process lasts 20 minutes and consists of three phases: pre-sterilizing process, sterilizing itself and remove with decomposition of the ozone - oxygen mixture on the built-in destructor up to the ozone concentration in it lower than MPC 0, 1 mg/m³. While turn on of the sterilizer, there is automatic block of doors of the sterilizing chamber.
Pre-sterilizing cycle lasts 20 minutes, during which air is replaced by ozone-air mixture in the sterilizing chamber. Atmospheric air is pumped into a special device, where there is purifying process from dust and other different microbiological pollution and bacteria, out of atmosphere of the working zone and then it is pumped into the discharge chamber of the ozone-generator, from which it is going into the sterilizing chamber. By the time of filling the sterilizing chamber with ozone-air mixture, air is pumped out through the destructor into the working zone from the sterilizing chamber with the help of a vacuum-pump.
80 – minutes sterilizing cycle begins after filling the sterilizing chamber with ozone-air mixture, without a pause. As killing microorganisms by ozone is much more effective at liquid medium, in the sterilizing chamber there is a humidifier that evaporates about 2 ml water for each cycle of sterilization. At sterilizing process, ozone-air mixture is constantly circulated and pumped out through the destructor into the working zone.
After fulfilling the sterilizing cycle, during 20 minutes in the sterilizing chamber there is a replacement of ozone-air mixture into air, which is pumped into from the working zone, by this, it goes through the process of purifying from dust, different microbiological pollution and bacteria. Ozone decomposition is done in the special destructor.
By finishing the sterilizing process, the sterilizer turns off automatically. For providing safety work of the sterilizer (for operating personnel), there are negative pressure and reliable ozone-proof materials inside the device.
In the sterilizer there are different blocking systems and automatic control over sterilizing process, together with electro- and fire safety. When the sterilizing process is on, the door is blocked and you can’t open it until you turn off the device. At any time the operator can break the sterilizing cycle.

Special detectors follow the accuracy of the whole sterilizing process, so the whole cycle is controlled by the microprocessor control unit; it is all seen by the stable work of the above-mentioned devices and by indication status of all the systems. By inaccurate work of inner systems or by errors of the operating personnel, the apparatus turns off automatically and the indicator "Fault” is on. For improving the quality of sterilizing, in the working chamber there is humidity of the ozone-air mixture with steam, generated from distilled water and pumped into the special tube with the help of a syringe.
Working procedure
· On the front control board there is upper button of closing and opening doors of the sterilizer, below – button "ON” (turning on the sterilizer), by the second pressing the button "ON” (breaking the sterilizing cycle and pumping out of ozone-air mixture out of the sterilizer), information control board with the digital indicator, that shows the current time of the sterilizing process at the regime of the reverse reading and indicators: yellow – "Network”, green – "Work”, red – "Fault”.
· On the back panel of the sterilizer there is a network cord.
· Pump (by a medical syringe) 2 ml distilled water into the humidity chamber, located on the bottom of the sterilizing chamber.
· Put the instruments for sterilization into the sterilizing chamber, using netlike trays made of polished stainless steel.
· Close the door of the sterilizing chamber hermetically (till the flash of blocking net turnoff).
· Press the button "ON”. The 120-minute – sterilizing cycle is on. The working regime is indicated by lighting the green indicator "Work”, the digital indicator reflects the time, in minutes, left to the end of the sterilizing cycle.
Information control board of the front panel reflects the following phases:
· Constantly lighting yellow indicator "Network”, showing the turn on of the sterilizer into the electric network;
· "- - -” (three dashes on digital indicator) – always 1 – minute – preparation and calibration of the special device to purify the pumped air from dust, different microbiological pollution and bacterial cleaning;
· "120” (reverse reading minutes from 120 till 0) and flash of green indicator - "Work”, indicating the constant consecutive fulfillment of all three sterilizing cycles, including the cleaning of the sterilizing chamber from ozone-air mixture.
· "0” (reverse reading minutes reached 0), by the end of the sterilizing process, flashing indicator "Work” stops, green indicator is constantly on, it confirms that the whole cycle and all the phases of the sterilizing process are finished, ozone-air gas mixture is replaced by the microbiological purified air, all the instruments, devices – are sterile.
· If the working cycle were interrupted (for instance, voltage turnoff or sterilizing stop, or opening doors of the chamber), in this case the instruments in the chamber are not considered to be sterile. By resumption of power supply or the second sterilizer turn on, microprocessor control unit turns on the 20-minutes (reverse reading) pumping-out ozone-air mixture from the sterilizing chamber. Red indicator "Fault” is on. By the end of pump out process, indicator "Fault” is constantly on. The instruments in the chamber are not considered to be sterile! In this case, to fully guarantee the sterilization, it is necessary first to turn off and then to turn on the sterilizer by pressing the button "ON” for the second full sterilizing cycle.
· After breaking the sterilizing cycle, you shouldn’t wait till the 20-minutes pumping-out ozone-air mixture cycle is finished (while red indicator "Fault” is flashing), you have to turn on the sterilizer again, for making the second full 120-minute-sterilizing cycle.

· ozone destructor for ozone decomposition of the unused ozone-air mixture;
· device for cleaning or purifying air from dust, different microbiological pollution and bacteria;
· powerful high-voltage generator, retransforming supply-line voltage 220 V, 50 Hertz into 5 kilovolt, 2 K Hertz, power up to 150 Watt for power supply of the ozone generator;
· microprocessor control unit with the light-emitting diode indicators of the working regimes on the front board of the device;
· humidifier of the sterilizing chamber, e.g. the stainless content on the silicon, ozone-resistant sealants, the volume of which is about 5 ml, with the electrical heater for water evaporation, that is built-in the bottom of the sterilizing chamber and power supply unit.
Results of the analysis on sterile:
1. Washings of open instruments before the sterilization gave the growth of Grampositive bacteria. After 60-minute-sterilization of ozone, inoculations of washings didn’t give any growth.
2. After 120-minute-sterilization of layings (wrapped into cloth and prepared as for autoclave) of the instruments, bacteria of group Esherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa – are not identified. Control upon the sterility has shown: the instruments are absolutely sterile.
